Assistant Community Association Manager
AmLo Management is a boutique HOA and condo management company serving communities across Southern California. We manage a focused portfolio of just HOAs and condominium owners associations (COAs). No single-family property management. We are hiring an Assistant Community Association Manager to support our managers and the associations they run. This is the role where you learn the business from the inside and build toward running a portfolio of your own. You take the routine and administrative work off the managers' plates so they can focus on the judgment calls.
What you will do
- Support the managers: Prepare board packets, agendas, and meeting notices, draft minutes, and keep records and action lists current so nothing slips.
- Homeowner and resident service: Be a first point of contact for routine questions, work orders, and requests. Log them, route them, and follow up so people are not left waiting.
- Financial support: Help code invoices, track assessments and delinquencies, and pull the reports your manager needs for board review. The manager owns the budget; you help keep the numbers clean.
- Vendor coordination: Schedule work, gather bids, and chase down service updates under the manager's direction.
- Records and compliance: Keep governing documents, certificates of insurance, and association files organized and up to date.
- Meeting support: Prepare materials and attend some meetings, including occasional evenings, with or on behalf of the manager.
Required
- One or more years in a role that builds the right instincts: administrative, customer service, bookkeeping, property management, community association support, or service industry work such as restaurants or hospitality. Strong transferable experience plus a real interest in the field counts.
- Reside within the greater Southern California area. This is a California-based role.
- Strong organization and follow-through. You can juggle many small tasks and deadlines without dropping them.
- Clear, plain written and verbal communication with boards, residents, and vendors.
- Comfortable in Google Workspace, Vantaca or the ability to learn it quickly, and common AI tools.
- Valid California driver's license and a reliable, insured vehicle. This role is primarily remote, with occasional travel to support managers at meetings and on site.
Preferred
- A CMCA, or working toward one, is a bonus. It is not expected, and we cover the coursework and testing costs if you decide to pursue it.
- Vantaca experience specifically.
- Prior HOA or condo experience.
- A college degree. Preferred, not required.
- Bookkeeping or accounts payable and receivable familiarity.
Who fits here
We are looking for a particular temperament, not just a resume.
- Diplomatic. You can handle a frustrated resident or a tough call calmly. You keep it factual and never make it personal.
- A natural at trust. You build rapport with boards, residents, and vendors quickly, and you keep it by doing what you said you would.
- Biased toward action. You move small things forward before they pile up, and you flag the big ones early.
- Eager to grow. You want to grow into running your own portfolio, and you treat this role as the on-ramp.
Compensation and benefits
Pay: $31 to $37.50 per hour, roughly $64,000 to $78,000 per year at full time, based on experience. This is a full-time, hourly, overtime-eligible role.
Benefits:
- Health coverage
- Dental
- Vision
- Retirement plan
- Paid time off and paid holidays
- Mileage reimbursement for role-related travel
- CMCA coursework and testing costs covered
Schedule: Primarily remote, with occasional travel across the greater Southern California area for meetings and manager support.
